CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A Catawba County mother is charged with murder in connection with the death of her 9-month-old daughter, investigators said.
The Catawba County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Section House Road around 5 a.m. on Friday, July 12. When deputies arrived, they found 39-year-old Megan Stack Sattizahn walking in the area. Deputies claimed that Sattizahn appeared disoriented before leading them to her home on Tanglewood Drive.
Deputies found the woman's infant dead inside the house. Sattizahn was taken to a hospital for evaluation. She is now charged with murder for the child's death. Sattizahn is being held in the Catawba County jail without bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 22.
