CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Myers Park High School student could face charges for the alleged assault of a teacher on Thursday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed the incident on Friday. A police report obtained by WCNC Charlotte states the student assaulted at least two people by punching them. A CMS spokesperson issued the following statement to WCNC Charlotte:
"Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is dedicated to maintaining safe and secure learning environments for staff and students. Yesterday, a Myers Park High School student allegedly assaulted a teacher. Law enforcement officers were immediately called to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Charges have been filed against the student."
The student, who hasn't been identified, will be disciplined in accordance with the district's Code of Student Conduct, CMS officials said.
