Southwest Charlotte shooting leaves 1 seriously hurt, Medic says

The shooting happened near Interstate 77 on Nations Ford Road in southwest Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was seriously injured in a shooting in southwest Charlotte early Friday, Medic said. 

It happened around 3 a.m. along Nations Ford Road near Interstate 77. Medic said the victim was taken to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. 

It was the second overnight shooting in Charlotte. One person was seriously hurt when they were found shot near the Spectrum Center in Uptown late Thursday night. No arrests have been announced in that case. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police haven't released any information on either shooting. It's unclear whether any suspects have been identified or anyone is in custody. 

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward in some cases.
