BALTIMORE -- The suspect accused of killing a Monroe teen will go back to trial once again.
It's the third time that Michael Johnson has been tried for the murder of Phylicia Barnes.
On Wednesday, a Special Appeals Court overturned Johnson's acquittal. He has been tried twice for Barnes' murder; his first trial was dismissed, and the second ended in a hung jury.
The case dates back to Christmas 2010; Barnes disappeared while visiting her sister in Baltimore. Her body was found four months later in a nearby river.
Johnson was charged a year later. He was convicted of second-degree murder in his first trial in 2013, but the conviction was overturned.
The case went to trial again in 2014 and ended in a mistrial, and the charges against Johnson were dropped last year.
Wednesday, that decision was overturned.
A new trial date has not yet been set.
