DURHAM, N.C. — One person was shot at North Carolina Central University Tuesday night.
The shooting sent the campus into lockdown, which has since been lifted. WRAL News was told the person who was shot was rushed to Duke Hospital. WRAL News is working to learn the victim's condition.
According to the University police, the shooting took place around 10:15 p.m. inside Lawson Residence Hall. The university put the campus on lockdown around 10:23 p.m. and lifted it around 12:25 a.m. Wednesday.
The Durham Police Department closed Lawson Street from Lincoln Street to Fayetteville Street while authorities investigated.
