CMPD identifies murder suspect in shooting at north Charlotte apartments

The 20-year-old victim was found shot in a car at an apartment complex off Sunset Road on March 14, CMPD said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are asking for the public's help finding an "armed and dangerous" man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in north Charlotte earlier this year.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Tanager Park Drive around 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 14. When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Nasir Quron Boyd suffering from a gunshot wound in a car. Boyd was taken to the hospital where he died.

A CMPD spokesperson said the shooting appeared to be drug-related based on evidence gathered at the scene.

"We're talking about the loss of life," the CMPD spokesperson said. "Our ability to bring justice to that victim, to that victim's family. Each individual is a human being who has brothers, who has sisters, who has friends."

CMPD identified 21-year-old Reginald Lashawn Harrison as a suspect in the case. Harrison is wanted by CMPD for murder and is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) immediately at 704-336-VCAT. Witnesses may also call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly with homicide detectives. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
