CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person has life-threatening injuries after a shooting in north Charlotte, according to Medic.
It happened on Wallace Ridge Drive in north Charlotte early Wednesday morning.
Details about the shooting are limited at this time. A WCNC Charlotte crew at the scene saw a woman on the ground who later got off the ground, as well as an officer holding a baby. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have not provided any information on if the woman or baby were involved in the incident.
WCNC Charlotte is working to confirm more information about the nature of the shooting and if any charges have been filed.
WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.
