Two hurt in separate north Charlotte shootings, Medic says

It's unclear if the shootings are connected.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were seriously injured in separate shootings overnight in north Charlotte, Medic said. 

The first shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. on Clooney Lane, which is just offNorth Graham Street near University City Boulevard. Medic confirmed one person was taken to Novant Presbyterian with life-threatening injuries. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police later responded to a shooting on Gibbon Road around 3:30 a.m. Medic said the victim in that incident was taken to Novant Presbyterian with life-threatening injuries, as well. 

CMPD hasn't released any details on the shootings at this time. Detectives are working to determine if the shootings, which happened about 3 miles apart, are connected.
