Teen killed in northeast Charlotte homicide, CMPD says

The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Jorden Anthony Wood.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in the northeast part of the city.

In an alert shared Friday around 7 p.m., CMPD said the scene was located along Old Mallard Creek Road, near the Keith Family YMCA and West W.T. Harris Boulevard. While more specific details weren't immediately available, officers said one victim had been pronounced dead.

CMPD identified the victim as 17-year-old Jorden Anthony Wood. Wood's next of kin has been notified of his death.

 The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
