Officials identify 7 inmates killed at SC prison

The S.C. Department of Corrections has identified the seven inmates killed overnight at Lee Correctional Institution.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) — The S.C. Department of Corrections has identified the seven inmates killed overnight at Lee Correctional Institution.

The deceased inmates are:

Eddie Casey Jay Gaskins, 32. Gaskins was transferred from Kirkland Correctional Institution to Lee Correctional Institution less than two weeks ago, on March 29, 2018, according to SCDOC. Gaskins began serving a 10-year prison sentence for a first-degree domestic violence conviction in Berkeley County on 2/18/2017. SCDC lists his projected release date as 4/18/2022.

Joshua Svwin Jenkins, 33. Jenkins was serving a 32-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, and attempted murder in Berkeley County and second-degree burglary in Orangeburg County. Jenkins began serving his sentences in September of 2011. SCDC lists his projected release date as 6/24/2024.

Cornelius Quantral McClary, 33. McClary was serving 42 years for first-degree burglary, first-degree assault and battery, criminal conspiracy and a firearms violation, all in Williamsburg County. McClary began serving his sentences in May of 2011. SCDC lists his projected release date as 8/17/2032.

Michael Milledge, 44. Milledge was serving 66 years for trafficking of crack cocaine, making, distributing or possessing narcotics, illegal drug possession and a firearms violation in Greenville County, as well as first-degree assault and battery in Marlboro County. Milledge began serving his sentences in June of 2007. SCDC lists his projected release date as 6/20/2032.

Damonte Marquez Rivera, 24. Rivera was serving 90 years for armed robbery, first-degree burglary and kidnapping, as well as a life sentence for murder, all in Georgetown County. Rivera began serving his sentences in September of 2012. Rivera was not eligible for release.

Raymond Angelo Scott, 28. Scott was serving 30 years for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and two firearms violations in Sumter County. Scott begin serving his sentences in December of 2015. SCDC lists his projected release date as 8/26/2035.

Corey Scott, 38. Scott was serving 87 years for kidnapping, armed robbery, carjacking with bodily injury, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and criminal conspiracy in Florence County, as well as first-degree assault and battery in McCormick County. Scott began serving his sentences in July of 2002. SCDC lists his projected release date as 1/09/2022.
