CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Editor's Note: On Dec. 14, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced investigators had classified this case as a "justified homicide." The police department said the case was also reviewed by the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's office. No charges were filed in the case.

A man was shot and killed in east Charlotte Thursday evening, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
CMPD officers were called to a reported shooting on Lawyers Road near the intersection with Albemarle Road around 5:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot.
The victim, identified as 48-year-old Detreye Kenjuan Walker, was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic. Detectives said a person of interest was taken into custody and officers aren't looking for any other suspects.
Officials said Walker and the suspect knew each other.
CMPD has not released any suspect information at this time, and no charges have been announced.
