CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested in connection to a shooting that killed a woman on Sunset Road Sunday morning, according to court records.
This was the second deadly shooting in the north Charlotte area that day, both reported around 5 a.m. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told WCNC Charlotte the two shootings, which happened within an 8-minute drive of each other, are not connected.
WCNC Charlotte's crew on the scene saw a heavy police presence surrounding a Cook Out restaurant on Sunset Road after a woman was shot and killed by her coworker in the restaurant.
She has since been identified as 26-year-old Jaselyn Horne.
Malek Crosby, 20, was arrested and charged in connection to the deadly shooting.
Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
