1 person hospitalized after shooting near south Charlotte McDonald's, Medic reports

A WCNC Charlotte recorded several police cars at the restaurant Friday night.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person is in the hospital after a shooting in south Charlotte late Friday night.

Medic confirmed to WCNC Charlotte they responded around 11 p.m. to Tyvola road near the interchange with I-77. They found one patient with life-threatening injuries and took them to the hospital.

A WCNC Charlotte photographer recorded a large police presence at the McDonald's restaurant in the area. Crime scene tape was set up in the drive-thru area.

As of publication, CMPD has not released details about what happened.
