BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Two suspects are in custody and one more was on the run after a gas station robbery in Morganton Thursday morning.
On Friday evening, a photo was released of the suspect who remained at large. Stephen Craig, 18, was wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree kidnapping.
On Thursday, Tashun Allison, 20, of Kings Mountain was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree kidnapping, according to an arrest warrant.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office said three men robbed the Speedway gas station on Sterling Street before running from the store.
On Friday, a Burke County Deputy responded to a call for service to 5313 Mineral Springs Mtn. Ave. regarding a possible break-in.
The deputy entered the house and located Derik Montre Williams who was arrested without incident for felonious breaking, entering, and larceny.
While deputies were searching for the suspects, police said two of the men stole a vehicle on Parker Road and led deputies on a chase.
The suspects then crashed on Mineral Springs Mountain Road and ran into the woods, according to deputies.
The sheriff's office originally said the third suspect stole a City of Morganton water truck on Beeker Way but later announced that crime was not related to the gas station robbery.
Police said the truck was found in North Myrtle Beach, and two suspects were detained there.
"We're cautioning all the residents in the area to make sure their doors are locked, their cars are locked, their keys are out of the car," Sheriff Steve Whisenant said
