CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two robbery suspects were arrested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police SWAT officers at an apartment complex in south Charlotte on Wednesday, detectives said.
CMPD said it had a large presence at an apartment complex along Arborgate Drive, which is just off East Arrowood Road and Old Pineville Road. CMPD sent an alert about the police presence around 10 a.m. Numerous police cruisers and uniformed officers were outside the building, as well as a group of tactical officers.
A CMPD spokesperson told WCNC Charlotte that officers were looking for two robbery suspects at the complex. One of the suspects reportedly surrendered to police. The second suspect stayed inside and was found hiding in the ceiling, according to CMPD. Neither suspect has been identified as this time.
Medic confirmed it was on standby for police support but wouldn't comment on the nature of the response.
