CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tips from the public helped the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department bust a drug trafficking operation spanning multiple states, according to police officials.
Acting on a tip from Crime Stoppers, Charlotte police seized nearly 200 pounds of marijuana, illegal mushrooms, drug ledgers and an undisclosed amount of cash.
One person is now facing serious drug-related charges.
The department said the investigation helped disrupt the flow of drugs into the community.
"This is a shining example of how collaboration and vigilance make a real difference. Thank you, Steele Creek and Central CRU, for your hard work in keeping our neighborhoods safe," a police spokesperson said.
