CMPD investigating after armed robbery reported at Charlotte light rail station

It happened around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday at the Archdale Station for the Blue Line.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a reported armed robbery at a Charlotte light rail station on Sunday, according to a CMPD incident report. 

It happened around 1:15 a.m. at the Archdale Station for the Blue Line, which is near the intersection of South Boulevard and Archdale Drive in south Charlotte. 

The suspect assaulted two men with an "unknown blunt weapon" before taking money and a passport from the victims and leaving the scene. Police said the victims did not know the suspect. 

Both victims had minor injuries. One was taken to the hospital to be treated, while the other victim refused to be treated.
