Rock Hill woman warns of group possibly posing as fake Amazon workers

The woman said the group kept asking questions, such as the "best time to not deliver" packages to her office.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — If a trio of people shows up at your home or business claiming to be Amazon workers asking questions about your delivery options, officials say you should think twice.

Lauren Adams says she was at work at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Rock Hill when a woman approached her wearing an embroidered vest with the Amazon logo on it.

“She told me she was with Amazon and they were out in the area going to different businesses to confirm delivery times,” Adams said.

But she adds something about those questions just didn’t add up.

“Kind of a red flag is they wanted to know when the best time to not deliver so in my head I was like you want to know when I’m not here in the building which didn’t make sense to me,” Adams said.

We’re told there were also two men with the woman who she said were her co-workers. Adams says the men waited in a nearby white four door car recording video of her.

“I thought it was very strange,” Adam said. “I didn’t know if they were scoping the place out ahead of time.”

Adams says she immediately went inside to call Amazon Customer Service who told her delivery workers should not show up in this way asking about delivery options. That’s when Adams called police.

It’s still unclear what exactly this group posing as Amazon delivery workers were up to, but police say if you come across a case like this it’s always best to report it.
