SALISBURY, N.C. — A hoax bomb threat was phoned into Salisbury High School Wednesday, according to officials with the Salisbury Police Department and Rowan-Salisbury Schools.
The district said the high school received a phone call communicating a threat, which police confirmed was a hoax bomb threat. The campus was then evacuated as law enforcement thoroughly searched the building. R-SS said the school was deemed safe at 2 p.m. and students returned to class.
A spokesperson for the district shared a message from principal Marvin Moore encouraging parents to talk with students about the seriousness of sharing threats, specifically that making threats of mass violence on educational property is a Class H felony.
As of publication, it's not known if any suspects are in custody.
