SALISBURY, N.C. — The Salisbury Police Department said a suspect has been arrested after police say he shot a customer inside a Waffle House back on June 30.
Police say a shooting inside the late-night diner on Innes Street in Salisbury left one man in critical condition.
Two customers had an argument inside the Waffle House which escalated, police say, and it escalated. The victim was shot multiple times.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, officials say. The man is in critical, but stable condition.
Police said the suspect, Jaquan Kamiai Morris, turned himself into the Salisbury PD Wednesday morning for the outstanding charges of attempted first-degree murder and also assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Police report Morris was transported to the Rowan County Magistrates office where he was given a $125,000 bond. He was then transported to the Rowan County Jail.
The incident happened around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, police say.
Neighbors say the incident is unusual for the area.
