CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- On Tuesday night, CMPD officers arrested Carlos Delcid and charged him with first degree burglary.

Delcid was the second suspect police had been looking for his involvement in the attempted home invasion.

NBC Charlotte also learned that the other suspect was fatally shot during an attempted breaking and entering.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to the 8600 block of Rolling Fields Lane in southeast Charlotte about 5:15 Tuesday evening.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located Isai Robert Delcid from an apparent gunshot wound.

Both Isai and Carlos are brothers, according to CMPD

Detectives say both Isai and Carlos were attempting to break in to the residence when one of the occupants inside the home shot Isai Robert Delcid; the second suspect fled the scene.

Police say an elderly grandmother and her 14-year-old grandson were in the home at the time of the incident. Police say the teen fatally shot the intruder.

CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe told NBC Charlotte's Bora Kim that the same house was broken-in to recently, and authorities believe the two break-ins may be connected.

The grandfather of the 14-year-old told Bora Kim that the boy shot the intruder after "repeated pleas to stop".
