GASTONIA, N.C. — A Shelby man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2020 shooting death of a 30-year-old man in Gastonia.
On Tuesday, a jury found Eric De'Sean Glenn guilty in the death of Eric De Sean Glenn. Glenn was also found guilty on the charge of attempted murder of Brittany McGraw and her 2-year-old son.
On June 9, 2020, Sanders was found to have shot Glenn, who died at the hospital. Prosecutors argued Sanders had been in a relationship with McGraw. Following their break-up, prosecutors found Glenn sent her threats over text messages.
At the time of the killing, Glenn was in a new relationship with Ashley Abernathy, 38, of Lincolnton, according to investigators. When Glenn was arrested for the shooting death, Abernathy had also been charged.
Glenn's trial lasted a week with the jury deliberating for an hour.
