Shooting victim ran into beauty salon for help, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A shooting victim ran into a beauty salon for help in the University area Friday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

The person was shot in a parking lot on Collins Aikman Drive, according to police. Investigators said it was very likely the suspect and victim knew each other.

A witness told NBC Charlotte the altercation began with two people in separate vehicles, then one got out and shot the other.

Officers were searching for the suspect. The victim, who was shot in the leg, was expected to be okay.
