South Charlotte shooting injures 1, Medic says

It happened at the intersection of South Boulevard and East Hebron Street around noon Friday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was hurt in a shooting in south Charlotte on Friday afternoon, Medic said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of South Boulevard and East Hebron Street, which is just south of Sharon Lakes Road, around noon. Medic confirmed one person was taken to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Multiple CMPD officers were on the scene talking with a man beside a black pickup truck. It's unclear if that person was involved in the shooting or was a witness. CMPD hasn't released any suspect information or announced any arrests at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
