1 seriously hurt in south Charlotte shooting: Medic

The shooting happened at an apartment complex near the corner of Sharon Road West and Sharon Lakes Road in south Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was seriously injured in a shooting at an apartment complex in south Charlotte Wednesday morning, Medic said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting near the Sharonridge Apartments around 10 a.m. That's near the intersection with Sharon Lakes Road.

Medic confirmed the victim was taken to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries. CMPD hasn't released any information about the shooting at this time. It's unclear if detectives have identified a suspect or made any arrests. 

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
