CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A security guard was attacked by a group of robbery suspects at SouthPark Mall on Tuesday, according to a police report obtained by WCNC Charlotte.
The report alleges that the mall's security officers responded to a reported robbery at Nordstrom. The security officer saw a group of people hiding merchandise and attempted to take them into custody. The suspects allegedly attacked the security officer, causing minor injuries.
The group then ran from the store and left the mall, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.
No arrests have been made and CMPD hasn't released any further suspect information. It's unclear if the suspects got away with any stolen items. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
