STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A Stanly County man is accused of altering the last will and testament of a deceased person, deputies said.
The Stanly County Sheriff's Office found that Richard Huneycutt altered the last will and testament of Alan Jarvis Harwood following multiple search warrants conducted on Oct. 20.
Deputies found that Huneycutt took possession of Harwood's home and multiple vehicles illegally after his death.
Huneycutt was later arrested and charged with felony larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking & entering, uttering forged instruments, common law forgery, obtaining property false pretense and forgery of deeds or wills, according to the sheriff's office.
Honeycutt is currently being held at the Stanly County jail under a $1.7 million bond, deputies said. Huneycutt is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6.
