Michael Todd Everidge, 62, was taken into custody earlier this week.

STATESVILLE, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot because of the nature of the charges.

Several reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led to a Statesville man's arrest this week on claims he possessed child sexual exploitation material.

The Statesville Police Department shared Wednesday that 62-year-old Michael Todd Everidge was taken into custody on Tuesday after police and agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation searched his home on Royalty Circle. The search was prompted by a series of CyberTip reports tied to Everidge that were shared between June and October of 2024.

Everidge was charged with six counts of second-degree child sexual exploitation. He remains in jail on a $210,000 secured bond.

Anyone with information on Everidge's case or any other case involving child sexual exploitation is asked to contact Statesville Police.
