STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Statesville man was arrested on Monday after police say he robbed a film production crew at a hotel.
The Statesville Police Department responded to a Courtyard Marriott on Cinema Drive, just off Salisbury Road, where they met with members of a production crew who said their equipment and luggage had been stolen from the hotel's parking lot.
With the help of nearby businesses, investigators were able to locate and identify a 2001 Nissan Altima as the suspect's vehicle, according to officers.
The suspect, later identified as 45-year-old James Clifford Collins, was arrested following an investigation, police said. Investigators also successfully recovered all property belonging to the production crew.
Collins has been charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property and has been issued a $5,000 secured bond, according to police.
