STATESVILLE, N.C. — Three people have died after an apparent murder-suicide in Statesville Friday morning, investigators said.
Statesville Police responded to a report of shots fired on Bunker Hill Lane around 7 a.m. The neighborhood is located just off Amity Hill Road south of downtown Statesville.
When officers arrived, they found three people dead inside the house. None of the people who died have been identified at this time. An infant was in the home at the time, but was not injured, police said.
No further information related to the shooting has been released by investigators.
"We ask for the community's patience and cooperation as we continue our investigation," Statesville Police said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragedy."
