CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Three people are dead after an apparent triple homicide in Chesterfield County Tuesday, deputies said.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office was called to a reported shooting at a home on Society Hill Road around 12:30 p.m. When officers got there, deputies found the three victims dead behind the house.
Detectives said they don't believe there is a public threat and they are not looking for a suspect in connection with the killings.
The victims were identified as 29-year-old Hailey Brown, 27-year-old Cordarius Foster, and a 3-year-old child, whose name was not released because of state law.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is also investigating. Neighbors said they were shocked and there hasn't been a crime problem in the area.
Local residents told NBC Charlotte they were shocked, as they haven't seen an issue with crime in the area.
"I travel this road back and forth going to Chesterfield and I would have never thought this would happen in this area," said one woman.
The sheriff's office did not release any more information.
