One person hurt in overnight Uptown shooting: Medic

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Medic confirmed.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was seriously injured in a shooting in Uptown Charlotte early Friday, Medic said. 

It happened around 2:30 in the parking deck of the Ellis apartment building on East Ninth Street, according to staff members at the property. Medic confirmed one person was taken to Novant Presbyterian with serious injuries.

No further information was released. WCNC Charlotte has reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police for more details. It's unclear if police are looking for any suspects or if any arrests have been made.
