GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – Search warrants released Monday reveal new details in the case against a 25-year-old man charged with killing a 3-year-old girl.
The body of Jordyn Dumont, 3, was found wrapped in a sheet in a wooded area in Gaston County the day after her mother's boyfriend, 25-year-old Billy Joseph McCullen, called police to report the child had gone missing.
The Medical Examiner's Office says the autopsy showed the child died of blunt force trauma.
Monday, NBC Charlotte obtained the search warrants which detail evidence found at the home McCullen shared with Jordyn and her mother on Besstown Road in Bessemer City.
Large amounts of blood were found throughout the house, according to the search warrants, as well as indications of illegal drug use. The warrant states that soiled clothing and electronic media were also observed during the initial search of the home.
McCullen is charged with first-degree murder in connection to Jordyn's death.
