12-year-old hurt after shooting in west Charlotte, CMPD report says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 12-year-old boy was seriously hurt after a shooting in west Charlotte on Monday, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police incident report. 

It happened outside on Dewberry Terrace, not far from West Boulevard. Police said when they got to the scene around 9 p.m., they found the child, who had been shot by an unknown suspect. 

The child, who has not been named, was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. 

No further information has been provided about the investigation at this time. WCNC Charlotte is working to learn more.
