CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says a shooting that left two people wounded in November 2023 has now turned deadly after one victim died of his injuries roughly three months later.
Officers said the shooting on November 20, 2023, happened along Mayfair Avenue around midnight. Police found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Since then, the investigation remained ongoing. However, CMPD said that one of the two victims died of his injuries on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. The death of 21-year-old Anarion Savage has now turned the shooting investigation into a homicide inquiry.
Anyone who may have information about the shooting is asked to call CMPD at (704) 432-TIPS. Anonymous tips can also be shared with Crime Stoppers by calling (704) 334-1600 or by submitting information online.
