YCSO offering reward for information about recent series of Rock Hill shootings

Officials are seeking information about a series of shootings that have taken place over the last two weeks.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information about those responsible for a series of shootings that have taken place over the last two weeks in Rock Hill.

The shootings happened in the Rambo Road and Ogden Road areas of Rock Hill. Between Aug. 9 and Aug. 17, multiple shootings took place.

Three homes have been hit by bullets and there have been six other reports of gunfire in the same area.

Trent Faris, public information officer at the York County Sheriff's Office, said these were not targeted shootings and they're grateful no one was hurt.

"Just random shootings in random places on these two random roads in York County," Faris said.

Sheriff Kevin Tolson asked for the public to help as officials search for those responsible.

"These incidents are not only irresponsible but incredibly dangerous and we need the community's help to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice," Tolson said. "Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to our investigation."

York County detectives are urging anyone who may have information about these shootings to contact Crime Stoppers of York County or give a tip on the P3 Tips App.

"We’re just asking the public to let us know who’s doing this," Faris said. "If they have any video, maybe saw a car, get us a better car description or something like that so we can try to figure out who’s doing this and stop it."

If someone submits an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest, there is a reward from Crime Stoppers of York County. All Crime Stoppers tips will remain anonymous.
