YSD1 told WCNC Charlotte once it learned about the investigation back on Aug. 22, it placed Gutierrez on administrative leave immediately.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A York School District 1 employee has been arrested and charged in connection to reported misconduct involving a student from another school district

In a release sent to WCNC Charlotte on Monday morning, the district said it was told about Isaias Faustino Gutierrez's arrest by local law enforcement originally. The district confirmed to WCNC Charlotte the charges are related to alleged actions that took place during his previous employment outside of YSD1. The district did not specify where it allegedly took place, what the nature of the misconduct was or what Gutierrez's role in the district is. It was also not disclosed where the student involved in the allegations attended.

YSD1 told WCNC Charlotte once it learned about the investigation back on Aug. 22, it placed Gutierrez on administrative leave immediately, which is in accordance with the district's policy.

The district said it has been cooperating fully with law enforcement since the beginning of the ongoing investigation and clarified that, as of now, no information has emerged to suggest that any students within YSD1 were involved in the allegations.

YSD1 specified it is committed to the safety and well-being of students in its district, but did say any parents who may be concerned with this news should call the district's Director of Human Resources Jennifer Bolin.

YSD1 serve more than 5,000 students who live in York, Sharon, Hickory Grove, and McConnells, South Carolina, and other unincorporated areas of southern and southwestern York County.
