School violence prevention group reviewing claims of bullying at Charlotte Catholic HS

A national nonprofit says it received several requests to investigate bullying at Charlotte Catholic High School.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A national nonprofit is reviewing allegations of bullying at Charlotte Catholic High School, possibly involving members of the school's football team.

The One In Five Foundation For Kids, a national school violence prevention and student advocacy group formed in the wake of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas, said it received several requests to look into alleged bullying at Charlotte Catholic. The organization says it will request oversight from the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte during the investigation.

"Ongoing bullying incidents, involving several students, primarily leveled against the school's football team have resulted in mental trauma with several parents now considering removing their students from the school," officials said in a news release.

The release goes on to say there are concerns over a lack of administrator attention to student behavior and conflict resolution at the school.
