CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating a school resource officer in Chesterfield County.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office confirmed the department received a complaint about a school resource officer working at Cheraw Primary School. Further details about the cause of the investigation are limited at this time. The school resource officer under investigation has not been publicly identified.
The Chesterfield County School District confirmed it turned over the investigation to the sheriff's department, since SROs are employed by the sheriff's office instead of the district.
WCNC Charlotte has reached out to SLED for more information on the status of the investigation.
