CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If you have a teenager trying to figure out where to go to college, there are several great options in the Carolinas.
According to a recent Wallethub study, Duke University was named the best university or college in North Carolina, just ahead of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Duke was recognized for its student-to-faculty ratio, gender and racial diversity, as well as their alumni median salary. Wallethub's study compared 1,0003 colleges and universities across seven dimensions: Student selectivity, cost & financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes and career outcomes. They were then evaluated using 33 metrics, each graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the most favorable conditions for undergraduate students during and after attendance.
Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill were ranked first and second for universities in the South region, with Vanderbilt, Rice and Georgia Tech rounding out the top five.
