CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A lockdown was put in place at Oakdale Elementary School in north Charlotte after a "disturbance during morning arrival" Wednesday morning, school district officials confirmed. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools did not provide further information on what the disturbance in question was. CMPD confirmed the incident did not involve any students and was not related to anything on school property, but did not provide further information.
An employee at a nearby day care told WCNC Charlotte the day care was put on lockdown as well.
