Boosie to perform with orchestra in Charlotte: 'Boochella is more than a concert'

The event is designed to merge hip-hop with classical music, and will be the first time Boosie has performed live with orchestral accompaniment.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Rapper and hip-hop icon Boosie is coming to Charlotte, and he's mixing things up.

Boosie will share the stage with a live symphony orchestra at Ovens Auditorium for a "groundbreaking musical event" that's being dubbed Boochella. The event is designed to merge hip-hop with classical music, and will be the first time Boosie has performed live with orchestral accompaniment.

“Boochella is more than a concert–it’s a cultural movement,” Earl Cooper and Montez Watson, event promoters, said in a statement. “We are bringing together the raw energy of hip-hop with the timeless elegance of a symphony orchestra to create an experience fans will talk about for years to come.”

It's happening on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m., and tickets are on sale now. Tickets start at $104.50 before fees.
