Erika Hayes is the newest anchor and reporter at NBC Charlotte. You can watch her weekends at 6 and 11 p.m. She came to the Queen City after almost five years at WBTW in Myrtle Beach, where she started as weekday morning anchor, then traded the early hours for the late shift as weekday 10 and 11 p.m. anchor.
Before her time in Myrtle Beach, Erika earned her broadcast journalism degree at the University of South Carolina (go Gamecocks). She grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA, which she still considers home and loves to visit every chance she gets. She's a Steelers fan but will gladly cheer on the Panthers, as long as they aren't playing Pittsburgh.
In her free time, Erika loves anything creative. A few years ago she took up painting as a stress reliever and hasn't stopped since. She also loves pilates, yoga, biking and hiking. She can't wait to check out all of the trails in and around Charlotte!
