34 firefighters control Charlotte motel fire in 22 minutes

The Charlotte Fire Department said while there were 72 guests, there were no reported injuries.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tuesday night, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a motel fire in the 100 block of Red Roof Drive in Charlotte. 

34 firefighters controlled the incident, according to CFD. It took them 22 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but the 61 rooms were occupied by 72 guests. 

At this time, Charlotte Fire is working with management of the motel to place the occupants that were impacted.

Charlotte Fire said there was heavy fire showing before it was controlled. 

Officials believe the fire started in one room and spread to multiple additional rooms, possibly seven.

The fire is still under investigation. 

At this time, officials have not released the cause of the fire.
