HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Huntersville Fire tweeted that Station 4 is working on a solution after a gas line was cut.
The line was struck by a contractor installing utilities, according to Huntersville Fire.
The line break is below pavement at the entrance to The Oaks at Mcilwaine neighborhood.
The gas main struck has resulted in the closure of McIlwaine Road between Beatties Ford Road and Journeys End Trail.
Huntersville Fire said residents wanting to get home will have to walk in.
At 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Huntersville Fire said they successfully clamped the gas leak. But residents in the neighborhood did not have gas service at that time.
