Jasper County, SC (WLTX) - Tropical Depression Bonnie has caused a major traffic hazard on Interstate 95 in Jasper County, after the storm system dumped several inches of rain.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation says I-95 Southbound at the U.S. 17 exit, which is around mile marker 22, is blocked because of water on the road. Traffic is moving normally in the northbound lanes.

Forecast: Bonnie Downgraded to a Depression, Still Expected to be a Rainmaker

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has set up a detour at exit 28. Several other roads in that immediate area were also shut down.

Doppler radar estimates showed more than 10.4 inches of rain had fallen in that area.

Bonnie made landfall at the Isle of Palms near Charleston around 8:30 Sunday morning. It's expected to slowly move through the state over the next day and a half.
