26 Charlotte firefighters battle massive fire at Memorial Stadium

According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the fire was declared under control in just 18 minutes after several firefighters battled the flames.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than 20 firefighters have taken control of a large fire at Memorial Stadium on Friday morning. 

According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the fire was declared under control in just 18 minutes after several firefighters battled the flames. 

Charlotte Fire reports no injuries were reported and the fire is currently under investigation. According to officials, the stadium is undergoing renovations. 

Charlotte Mecklenburg County tweeted that the fire started when a contractor hit a live electrical wire while tearing down an old press box.
