14-year-old charged with threat against Salisbury HS

Police in Salisbury charged a 14-year-old in connection with a threat against Salisbury High School last week.

SALISBURY, N.C. – Detectives in Salisbury arrested a 14-year-old in connection with a threat against Salisbury High School, police said.

According to Salisbury Police, the teen, a ninth-grade student at Salisbury High, is charged with making an anonymous or threatening communication to the school. The investigation was launched on February 22, after the alleged threat was posted on social media, with the suspect threatening to “shoot up” Salisbury High.

Investigators said the original threat occurred in Ohio and was posted by a person using the profile name Ray Andres. Police said the student that was charged in connection with the threat changed an old Facebook account to mirror the account of the original poster.

After the threat was posted, Salisbury High School was placed on lockdown.

Investigators said there are no other suspects and no further arrests are anticipated in connection with the threat. Due to his age, the suspect has not been identified by detectives.
