2-alarm fire breaks out at South Charlotte apartment complex

Three people were evaluated for smoke inhalation, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters tackled a 2-alarm fire on Saturday at an apartment complex in South Charlotte.

The blaze broke out at the Charlotte Woods apartments on Scaleybark Road.

A second alarm rang, prompting more Charlotte firefighters to respond to the scene. They controlled the flames in about an hour. 

Three people were evaluated for smoke inhalation by EMS responders. They were OK and nobody was reported to be injured. 

This fire is under investigation and officials have not yet released the cause of the fire.
