ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- Authorities arrested two people and charged them in the murder of a Rowan County woman whose burned body was found on the side of a road last Friday.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Amanda Kay Smith. Detectives confirmed the identification with her family late Friday evening.

Detectives also discovered that on Friday morning, several fire departments responded to a structure fire on Honeysuckle Lane in which the home was destroyed - it was determined this fire was deliberately set.

Detectives discovered that the victim was last seen in the presence of Timothy Clarence Smith Jr. (no relationship) and Stephanie Dawn Hall at a location in Salisbury. Detectives attempted to locate Timothy Smith and Hall throughout the weekend without success, but through the course of the investigation were able to develop these individuals as suspects in the murder of Amanda Smith, and to crime of arson of her home.

On Monday morning, Rowan County Sheriff's Detectives were notified that Tim Smith and Hall had been located in Horry County, South Carolina, near Myrtle Beach.

Warrants have been obtained for robbery, second degree arson, and first degree murder on both Hall and Tim Smith. Both suspects are being held in Horry County, and will be returned to Rowan County to face these charges
